A protest took place in downtown Nashville Sunday afternoon at the State Capitol building on Sunday afternoon.

The "Nashville Freedom Rally" gathered at the main government building to protest the closing of non-essential businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The event is organized by the #FreeTN group on Facebook, which is claiming the stay-at-home order in Tennessee is going against their "constitutional rights." The group is advising members to make their own signs with suggestions including "everybody is essential," "stop government overreach" and "#Flattenthefear."

FOX 17 News was live at protest on Sunday, which can be viewed below.

On Monday, another protest is planned for 11 a.m. at Legislative plaza.
